Teen Baking Group
Sam Coates-Fink of Backyard Bread leads this program for middle school and high school
students. Working from his hand-built brick oven, the group meets for holiday food prep and general Jewish learning. Over the years, students have made hamantashen, challah, pizza, sufganiyot, and charoset. They have taken leadership roles in CJL's community Hanukkah and Passover celebration events and baked for Cathedral in the Night, a local Christian group that creates a safe space and weekly free meals for the community in downtown Northampton. Each year is a bit different and each year retains the essential ingredients of baking and connection.
The Spring sessions are on Sundays (March 1, April 12, April 26, May 24 and June 14) from 3-5:30pm.
